The Year Ahead

If I'm honest, I'm not a huge fan of 'New Year's Resolutions'. I never stick to them and January is a month when I want to relax and hibernate, not torture myself by completely cutting out chocolate or running five miles a day.

That being said I do make goals for the year. I don't set deadlines and if I don't accomplish them by 2016 then it's not the end of the world. I find that with this more relaxed approach in trying to better myself, I actually achieve more. Below are my goals and hopes for 2015!

'Create Healthy Habits, Not Restrictions.'
Getting healthy. This is probably the most common 'resolution' I've seen on the countless 'New Years Resolutions' posts that flood the internet every year. It makes sense though, we over indulge throughout Christmas and when January swings around and thoughts of summer come creeping into our minds, we get this sudden urge to get fit.  This year for me will be a lot about my general health. I'll be doing a more in depth post on this in the next few weeks so stay tuned for that!

'Expect Nothing and Appreciate Everything.'
Being happier. Again, another quite 'stereotypical' resolution but what I mean by happiness is accepting life for what it is and being at peace with that. Last year I compared myself far too much to others even though some of those people were years older than me with much more life experience. This year I am going to reach the place in my life where I am happy with who I am, what I have and where I am going in life. I'll admit I am very close to reaching that stage and the closer I get, the better I feel.

'Don't Wish For It, Work For It.'
In 2015, I am going to push myself to achieve as much as I possibly can. Whether it's with my blog, in college or just in general life, I'm aiming for it. I'm terrible for procrastination so this year I want to get rid of that bad habit and be as proactive as possible.

Do you have any goals for the year ahead? Let me know in the comments below. I hope you enjoyed this post and thanks so much for reading!
