The Best View In Dublin - Mespil Hotel Review

2.2.17

Hello, I hope you're all reading this post curled up on the sofa or in bed nice and cosy, that is one miserable day out there! Last weekend, Dara and I headed up to Dublin for a little break and stayed in one of my favourite hotels, the Mespil Hotel*, and we had such a lovely time!

We stayed in the Executive Suite and it's by far the biggest hotel room in Dublin that I've ever stayed in! The bed was also huge and seriously comfy so it was perfect for a very relaxing weekend, both nights we were in bed by 10pm watching Netflix, but sometimes you just need a lazy few days.

Along with being super spacious, the room was also bright thanks to the huge window overlooking Dublin. Since our room was on the 5th floor, the view was spectacular and as well as the canal, we could actually see The Spire and the Aviva Stadium too.

Since the room was so big, it had a brilliant dressing area with a wardrobe that had mirrored doors, perfect for checking your outfit! We also had a coffee pod machine (a feature I always love to see in a hotel room) and a mini fridge with complimentary bottles of water, and I don't know about you, but it's little touches like that, that make a hotel just that little bit better than the rest.

Another big plus for this room was the fact that there was a bath AND a shower, call me easily pleased but that made me very happy and it was a rainfall shower too, which if you've read any of my previous hotel reviews, you'll know they are my favourite!

Another thing you'll know from previous hotel reviews is that my all time favourite part of staying in any hotel is the breakfast and the Mespil certainly doesn't disappoint. They have a large selection of yogurts, fruit, cereal, granola etc. and a brilliant hot food buffet. I much prefer buffet breakfasts like this because you can pick and choose your favourite things. They also had porridge available to order so on the Sunday morning I also had that in an attempt to be a little healthier...

I couldn't write this review of the Mespil Hotel without mentioning it's location, because it's one of the hotels best features. According to my Fitbit, it took us 23 minutes exactly to walk from the hotel into Grafton Street and if I'm being honest, it was a very leisurely walk! As well as it being so close to the city centre, it's also a pretty much direct route too, so there's no need for Google Maps.

If you're in the mood to shop till you drop in Dundrum Shopping Centre (like we did on Sunday), the Charlemont Luas stop is only a ten minute walk from the hotel too, so either way everything is very accessible.

So, if you're looking for a hotel in Dublin that's close enough to everything that you might need or want to do, but still feels like it's not in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Dublin, then you should definitely check out the Mespil Hotel

I hope you enjoyed this post and as always, thank so much for reading!
