As much as I love mascara and think it's probably my dessert island make-up product, liquid lipstick comes very close behind it. You can be guaranteed 9 times out of 10 when I'm wearing something on my lips, it's a matte liquid lipstick. I mean I can't fault them, they're long wearing, have a fab colour pay off and are so much more comfortable to me than a lipstick or lip gloss.

Now, I know that there are some liquid lipsticks out there that can leave your lips feeling dry, flaky and just aren't a fun time for anyone. I think we've all worn a matte liquid lipstick at some stage that's left us feeling like we've rubbed our lips in sand, right? But fear not, I would never lead you astray so today I'm sharing my absolute favourite liquid lipsticks so that we never have to experience sand lips again!

First up we have two of my favourite reds. The interesting thing about these two is that they're on very different ends of the price scale. The 'Lady In Red' matte liquid lipstick from Penneys is just €4 and includes a matching lip liner, and the Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in shade '714' is €19.50 (but currently on offer for €17.55). Now it has to be said that while they're both almost identical in shade and finish, the Urban Decay liquid lipstick does have more staying power.

One of my favourite brighter pinks to wear is the Flormar Silk Matte liquid lipstick in the shade '04 Daisy' which I'm wearing in the Instagram post above. Since I tend to stick to more dusky pink/nudes, it's nice to pop this on from time to time as I find it brightens up my face and helps me look a lot fresher. The Silk Matte liquid lipsticks are a gorgeous formula too so I need to remind myself to pick up a few more shades the next time I'm in Penneys.

Next up are three of my most warn liquid lipsticks, I love the formula of each one, they don't dry my lips out or start flaking off and they're such gorgeous shades. I have to give a particular mention to the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink because it's hands down the best liquid lipstick I've ever tried and I don't say that lightly. This gorgeous pink is the shade 'Lover', but I also wear the true red from the range a lot too which is the shade 'Pioneer'. I mean if a liquid lipstick could stay completely intact whilst I devoured a burger from Bunsen, then it really is something isn't it?

The Liquid Catsuit matte lipstick in the shade 'Rebel Rose' from Wet'n'Wild is another one I wear very often, it's a lovely 'your lips but better' shade for me and again super comfy to wear all day. The NYX Liquid Suede cream lipstick in the shade 'Soft Spoken' is my favourite liquid lipstick if I want something a little darker and moodier. It's a really light formula so very comfy to wear.

So there we have it, my six ride or die liquid lipsticks that I think everyone should try. Are any of your favourites featured in this post? Or are there any matte liquid lipsticks that I simply must try? Thanks so much for reading today's post, I hope you enjoyed it and if you have any lipstick related questions, just pop me a message on Instagram or Facebook.

My Top Matte Liquid Lipsticks

15.3.18

As well as looking back on my highlights from 2017, I thought I'd also round up my best beauty products from the past year. I got into beauty in a big way last year, I stepped outside of my comfort zone and actually made an effort (for the most part) with my make-up, I took a real interest in skincare and the ingredients I was putting on my face and I loved trying out lots of new products. You could also call this post my 'All Time Favourite Beauty Products' because I reach for each product that I'll be sharing at least once a week, if not more!

The Best Of Beauty In 2017

18.1.18

Since you all loved my previous 'The Best Of Beauty Under €10' post so much, I thought I'd do a follow-up and share my favourite products under €20! Granted a beauty product that costs €16 isn't as much of a bargain as one that costs €7, but it's still cheap enough in the grand scheme of beauty, isn't it?

Some of my most loved beauty products fall into this price category so I can't wait to share them with you!

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink in Pioneer

This product has to go first because it's a new addition to my beauty drawers and I just NEED to tell you all about it. If you're looking for the perfect red that makes your teeth look whiter, stays on all damn day (even through eating a burger) AND doesn't make your lips feel like a crusty mess, then the new Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink liquid lipsticks are a necessity. I also wear this in the shade 'Lover' which is a gorgeous pinky nude.

The Body Shop Lightening Shade Adjusting Drops

You might have seen me previously mention The Body Shop's Darkening Drops in my 'New In Beauty #5' post, but since it's now winter and I've returned to being Ghost Girl, I definitely don't need any help darkening my foundation! These lightening drops have been a god send for me because I'm so pale that even the lightest shades of foundation still look a little warm on my skin. These are super simple to use, you just blend them into your foundation and voilĂ , no more orange face/white neck!

Likewise with the Drops of Glow from The Body Shop, they're so easy to use, but they give you a gorgeous glow to the skin making it look like you've had a nice 10 hour sleep. I will often put a few drops of each of these into my foundation and it gives me a flawless base.

L'Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara

Two of the most frequent questions I get asked are "Are you wearing false eyelashes?" and "What mascara do you wear?". I am very lucky to have thick, long eyelashes, but recently those questions have become even more frequent and it's definitely because of this mascara. In the past I've used Too Faced's Better Than Sex mascara and Urban Decay's Perversion mascara and I have to say this one from L'Oreal Paris seriously gives them a run for their money.

L'Oreal Paris Paradise Brow Pomade

Another product from the new Paradise collection is the brow pomade. It seems like every brand has released their own brow pomade in the last few months but I was only ever impressed with Benefit's ka-BROW until I tried this one from L'Oreal. The thing I love about this brow pomade is that it's so easy to work into your brows and it comes in a good range of shades so you won't be stuck with eyebrows that are the total wrong colour for you.

L.O.V Cosmetics The GLOWrious Bronzing & Highlighting Palette

I'll be honest and say there hasn't been a product from L.O.V Cosmetics that I haven't loved. They seem to get everything just right and this bronzing and highlighting palette is no different. It costs just under €16 which I think for three powders is brilliant. I like quite a subtle, natural make-up look and this palette helps my skin look glowy and enhanced without looking like I've put much effort into it at all. The soft illuminator powder in particular is incredible and this palette is nice and compact too so it's easy to pop in your handbag.

Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray

Technically this is just over the €20 limit but it's too amazing not to include in this post. Whenever I curl my hair I spray this throughout the curls instead of a standard hairspray and the volume and hold it gives is incredible! It also smells amazing too.  I picked mine up in Lloyds Hair, who have an incredible range of haircare products but you can also find it online too. It's currently out of stock on FeelUnqiue (here) but a few other online stores like Shampoo.ie (here) and BeautyFeatures (here) have it in stock.

Vichy Micellar Solution

I used to be a die-hard fan of the Garnier Micellar water, it's nice and cheap and comes in a huge bottle, but that was until I tried Vichy's own micellar water. I find this one is much softer on the skin and breaks down my eye make-up a lot better than the Garnier one and at just €14 it's not too much more expensive.

Iconic Bronze Tanning Lotion in Medium

If you follow me on Snapchat you'll know I LOVE my Bellamianta tan, especially their new Crystal Clear formula (more on that soon) but it can be a little pricier than you might like, so that's where Iconic Bronze saves the day! It's only €12 and you can pick it up online or in Penneys and it gives a gorgeous, natural colour. There are two things I love the most about this tan, the first being it's so easy to apply, and the second being that it wears off like a dream.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Nuit

I first mentioned this moisturiser back in 2016 in this post and I recently unearthed a backup bottle I had in a drawer and fell in love with it all over again. This is a great moisturiser to use at night if your skin is acting up, or if you have sensitive skin in general and I've noticed a visible difference in my skin since using it again. I've just found it on the McCabes Pharamacy's website for a few euro cheaper than most other sites, happy days!

Garnier 3 in 1 Nourishing Honey Botanical Balm

Personally for me, any product that is 3 in 1 is instantly a bargain, I mean it's one product that has three different uses, how could you not get pulled in?! This botanical balm from Garnier can be used as a day moisturiser, a night moisturiser and a mask. I love using it as a day moisturiser because it's lovely and nourishing and really plumps up my skin, and I also love using it as a mask if my skin feels a little tried and dry. It's a rather large size too so it's lasting a long time and I just love products that are good value for money.

What are your favourite beauty products under €20? Have you used any of the products included in this post? I hope you enjoyed this beauty ramble, thanks so much for reading!

The Best Of Beauty Under €20

16.11.17

I've been trying to cut back on spending lately and save a bit of money. As I only ever buy make-up and skin care products in Boots I rack up a fair few amount of Advantage Card points. The other day there were a few things that caught my eye and I decided to delve into my points and treat myself! Keep reading to find out what I bought and what my first impressions of them are!

Latest Purchases #2

12.2.15

Hello there! Sorry for my absence, it's the last week of the semester in college and I've just started a new job so life is crazy busy! I thought I'd come back with a post I've been meaning to write since I started this blog. I touched on make up I use in my '5 Minute Make-Up' post but new products have been added and this is more of my everyday fuller make up routine.

Every Day Make-Up

2.12.14

Mascara is the one make up item that I'd chose over anything else, if I could only wear one piece of make up it'd be mascara without a doubt. It makes you look awake and opens your eyes and it only takes two seconds to apply a few coats. I'm guilty of buying far too much mascara, every time Boots are advertising the latest and greatest release in the mascara world I always want to try it.

My Top Five Mascara Picks

9.10.14

Early mornings never get easier no matter how many times that alarm goes off at 7am, so even an extra ten minutes in the warm cocoon of sheets is heaven. Having said that, those extra ten minutes of bliss means sacrificing precious primping time.

Over the years of early school mornings I've gotten the time it takes to make myself look "awake" and "alive", down significantly and I thought I'd share with you my basic 5 minute make-up routine that I use most days.
