Taking Some Time Out

2.11.16

Hello! Last weekend, my boyfriend and I took a trip up to the beautiful Lusty Beg Island for a little getaway and it was the perfect opportunity to take some time out and completely relax.
I'm one of those people who is totally guilty of always being 'busy'. Everyday I have a to-do list that seems never ending and I very rarely spending time doing nothing. I tell myself I don't have time to relax for hours reading a book, or watching two movies in a row, but that's ridiculous isn't it? You have to make time to relax and destress.

Last weekend in Lusty Beg (you can see more of our trip over on Instagram) forced me to relax, which is exactly what I needed. There was no wifi in our apartment so we watched movies and just chilled out and it was absolute heaven! On Saturday we also went to the spa and were treated to the most amazing massages and facials and I can tell you now, I haven't felt that relaxed in months!

Now don't get me wrong, I love what I do, between my job and my blog, I'm happy to be as busy as I am, but this past weekend has made me realise that every now and again it's important to take some time out, even if it's only an evening, and completely relax. I'm going to make it a priority of mine that every month, or two weeks, I dedicate an entire evening to some 'me time'. Whether it's having a nice long bath and painting my nails, or curling up on the couch and watching two movies in a row with some ice-cream, it's necessary!

Since returning from Lusty Beg and getting back into the swing of 'normal life', I've found that my head feels a lot clearer and decluttered and I'm much more focused, so taking some time out once in a while definitely works!

What's your favourite way to relax and unwind? Let me know in the comments and as always, thanks so much for reading!
