A/W Make-Up Essentials

16.11.16

Hello! Today I want to share with you all some of my A/W make-up essentials. I find that in the summer I tend to not wear too much make-up, especially lipstick and eyeshadow, so as soon as autumn rolls around I'm very ready for the bold lips and smokey eyes!

Lips:
The term 'bold lip' gets thrown around a lot at this time of year so I thought I'd share the three lip products I've been using a lot lately to achieve that look. First up is 'Mehr', my first ever MAC lipstick. It's described as a 'dirty blue pink' and it's a gorgeous matte finish that goes really well with pale skin which makes it perfect for winter!

The second lip colour I've been wearing a lot recently is Catrice's Satin Matt Lip Colour in Berry British. It's such a gorgeous berry shade and reminds me a lot of Charlotte Tilbury's 'Glastonberry' lipstick. Another berry shaded lipstick I love is 'Ravin Raisin' by Wet'n'Wild. Lots of people have likened it to MAC's 'Heroine' and for the price (under €4), it's brilliant value for money! The final lip product I love for this time of year is NYX's Liquid Suede Cream in 'Soft Spoken', it's a brilliant matte liquid lipstick and is perfect if you like a nude lip and want something a little deeper.

Eyes:
I am always pretty tame with my eye make-up but since around this time of year there are lots of festive parties and nights out I try to add a bit of smokey-ness (that's a word right?) to my make-up and I've recently fallen in love with Too Faced's Natural Eyes Palette and Better Than Sex Mascara. The Natural Eyes Palette has a range of neutral shades but also some shades to make an eye look pop. I really love the two gold shades seen above and the very dark brown shade is perfect for smoking up a look. The Better Than Sex Mascara has replaced by beloved Full Exposure by Smashbox hands down, it's honestly as amazing as everyone says. It gives amazing volume and length and lasts brilliantly.

Face & Nails:
I find it really hard to find a good foundation for my pale skin during the winter and when I say pale, I mean snow white! Back in June I first tried out the PS PRO Mineralized Foundation (read about the range here) and the lightest shade, 00 Porcelain, is a perfect match for my skin and I find this foundation really long lasting with brilliant coverage. To give my skin a bit of life I also like to mix in Sleek's Barekissed Illuminator in 'Cuba' which gives the skin a lovely glow. For nails, I've really been loving muted shades like the Sally Hansen one above, although I find that this nail polish chips a lot faster than I'd like, so if you have any nail polish recommendations, let me know!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I'd love to hear about your A/W Make-Up Essentials so be sure to leave them in the comments!
