Hello there, long time no talk! I don't think I was fully prepared for how hectic working in retail for Christmas would be, so I apologise for my absence! It's only now that I've gotten a pretty bad chest infection and have had to take a few days off that I've finally had time to blog again. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas full of eating and spending time with your loved ones!

Hello there! I hope your week is going well, and if it's not don't worry, there's only two days left until the weekend! Today I wanted to share with you all my three favourite blogs that I always keep up to date with.

When it comes to clothing, black is always best in my opinion. Last winter I wore mostly black with some grey thrown in for pretty much four months straight. With black you can't go wrong, it will always look chic and stylish with very minimal effort involved.

Today I thought I'd share you with a few things I've been absolutely loving lately. It was hard to narrow it down to just six items so I might even make this a monthly thing if you guys like it, just let me know in the comments!

Today I am going to let you in on a little secret that could save you a lot of money!

It's The Simple Things

Winter has well and truly arrived. I woke up this morning and saw how frosty it was and ran outside to take the picture above before the sun melted it away. While I'll admit I miss the summer sun, I do love winter and everything that comes along with it. I thought I'd share some of my 'must do' things during winter, hope you enjoy!

20 Things To Do In Winter

4.12.14

Hello there! Sorry for my absence, it's the last week of the semester in college and I've just started a new job so life is crazy busy! I thought I'd come back with a post I've been meaning to write since I started this blog. I touched on make up I use in my '5 Minute Make-Up' post but new products have been added and this is more of my everyday fuller make up routine.

Every Day Make-Up

The other day I went for a walk with my family in some woods near our house. My favourite time of year to go for walks is just as winter starts, there's something so refreshing about the crisp icy air and of course the autumn leaves make the best crunching sound when you walk on them! I thought I'd share with you today the outfit I wore as it's perfect for winter, it'll keep you warm but also look good.

As I've mentioned before, on weekdays I have to get up at half six for college. While it's not my favourite time to wake up, I've come up with a few ways to wake me up and make it more bearable. As soon as halloween was over I couldn't stop myself buying this festive duvet cover from Penneys and I think it was €22. It's brushed cotton and so soft and comfortable, making it even harder to get out of bed! As well as the tips I'm going to share below I also recommend getting at least seven hours sleep, without enough sleep it's very had to function at all.

How To Deal With Early Mornings

I was going to write this blogpost the day I first saw Interstellar but then I went to see it again three days later! I have yet to see The Imitation Game or The Mocking Jay Part One but I know that nothing could come close to how jaw dropping-ly good this film is. When I say this is the film of the year, I am not over exaggerating, and since I've seen almost every release this year I feel I can say that confidently. This post won't contain spoilers so you'll have to go see this masterpiece to find out what happens!

As Christmas approaches, beauty lovers wish-lists start growing, and who can blame us, there are so many wonderful offerings at this time of year. So I thought I'd share mine with you today!

Today I am finally getting round to introducing you to my newest addition to my tech artillery, the Fujifilm X-M1. I bought this on my last trip to Dublin which you can read about here. I'd been thinking about getting a camera for a long time and researched every possible option before setting my heart on the very vintage looking X-M1.

I'm the type of person who can't go a day without listening to music. Music keeps me ticking over and makes the inside of my head feel better. Today I'm going to share with you the albums I've been listening to non-stop lately, I hope you enjoy!

Do you ever get that insatiable itch to see everything you possibly can? To swim with sea turtles in Hawaii, to see red wood trees and feel minuscule or to take in the beauty of Yosemite National Park? Just typing that makes me want to book a plane ticket and never stop travelling (if only). Lately my wanderlust has been bigger than ever. I find myself constantly daydreaming about all the places and things there are to see in this world.

Today we're talking about brows! Thick filled in brows have been around for a few years now and it doesn't look like they're going out of fashion anytime soon, which I'm very happy about! Today I thought I'd share with you how I fill in my brows, hope you enjoy!

All About The Brows

Most weekdays I have to get up at half six in the morning for college and I usually don't get home until six that evening, this makes for a very tired Emer! So when I have days with nothing much to do, I use them to their full advantage. Today was one of those days and so I thought I'd share with you what I did.

What I Do On Days Off

Today I've picked out my favourite winter staples for this year. Winter is definitely my favourite time of year when it comes to fashion, there's nothing like buying a new winter coat that keeps you warm and looks adorable!

Last night I went to see the wonderful Paolo Nutini perform in the newly renamed 3Arena in Dublin. I've been a massive fan of his for years, Jenny Don't Be Hasty, Autumn and Rewind being some of my favourites. My dad who gave me my great love for music also loves Paolo and when we heard he was coming to Dublin we couldn't wait!

Today's post is a first for me, a 'What I Wore' type of thing! When I visit cities, be it Dublin, London or Cork, I'm most likely going to be walking all day so I want to be comfortable. But at the same time, you have to make a bit of effort in what you're wearing.

Yesterday my mum, my sister and I took a trip up to Dublin for a bit of shopping and I took a few pictures of the day, just to pre-warn you, this is a pretty picture heavy post, I hope you enjoy it.

Today I thought I'd talk about how I keep my skin in check, as the weather gets colder sometimes your skin can freak out a bit so it's important to look after it and remember, moisturiser is essential!
The products above are what I use every day to keep my skin clear and bright. I have sensitive skin so everything mentioned here is gentle and won't cause irritation.

So I'm sure you're familiar with the phrase fan girl right? Usually it describes hysterical fans of One Direction or some other pop group but in my case, I would consider myself a fan girl of Ben Howard. While I don't cry hysterically every time I listen to his songs (only sometimes) and I don't stalk his hotel before gigs, I am a huge fan and have been for many years now. In my eyes this man can do no wrong musically or otherwise, so when the postman finally delivered my copy of his newest masterpiece 'I Forgot Where We Were' I listened to it non-stop for a solid two days, no kidding.

My favourite season of the year is back, hooray! Every year I convince myself that Summer is my favourite season and while I do love the sun and the long lazy days, you can't beat wrapping up in gloves and scarfs and the cosy nights in watching movies.

Autumn Leaves

A girl can never have too many bags, that's how I justified buying yet another bag to add to my collection. I also justified it further because this little beauty was just €15 from Penneys, I couldn't leave it behind.

Mascara is the one make up item that I'd chose over anything else, if I could only wear one piece of make up it'd be mascara without a doubt. It makes you look awake and opens your eyes and it only takes two seconds to apply a few coats. I'm guilty of buying far too much mascara, every time Boots are advertising the latest and greatest release in the mascara world I always want to try it.

As part of my birthday present, my boyfriend and I spent the last weekend in Cork and it was a much needed getaway. We stayed in the Ambassador Hotel and it was lovely, just a short 15 minute walk from all the shops and not near any noisy roads or pubs, I'd definitely stay there again. The weather wasn't the best but hiding from the rain in Costa enjoying a belgian hot chocolate is not so bad!

A Weekend Away

Yesterday, the 29th of September was my 19th birthday. It feels odd saying that, 19 sounds so old to me, but then again I can't wait to be 21, strange I know. For this blog post I thought I'd share things I've learnt over the years in my short little life and I hope you enjoy them.

Birthday Musings

Today I want to talk about something slightly different from my usual posts, but something I care about just as much as fashion and beauty, in fact I probably care a lot more about this topic. The other day whilst scrolling through Up Worthy, one of my favourite sites, I saw Emma Watson's face pop up and with the title of the video being 'Her Voice Might Tremble, But Emma Watson's Message Is Strong And Clear', I was intrigued.

Yesterday I went into Lidl and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that they had a Macadamia Oil extract hair care line. Each product is only €1.99 and they have shampoo, conditioner, a hair mask, hair oil and a body butter.

As Ireland rolls into late September sunny days are hard to come by so I took full opportunity of the gorgeous weather yesterday and wore a dress going shopping. I bought this dress in Penneys/Primark about two weeks ago for €15 and I love it! It's comfy and girly and you can dress it up or down depending on what you're doing.  I paired it with my trusty Chuck Taylor All Star Lo converse in Optical white, I find that these shoes go with just about everything and are so comfy for a long day of shopping.

During the summer I came across an interesting article talking about coconut oil and how useful it is. Now I'll be honest and say that until I stumbled upon this article I didn't really know the stuff even existed, yeah sure, I've heard of coconut milk and water but not oil!

As I read through the piece I was amazed at how versatile it is and today I thought I'd give you my top ways to use it. I bought my jar in Tesco and although I can't remember the exact price, it definitely wasn't over €5, which for something as purposeful as this is pennies really!

Early mornings never get easier no matter how many times that alarm goes off at 7am, so even an extra ten minutes in the warm cocoon of sheets is heaven. Having said that, those extra ten minutes of bliss means sacrificing precious primping time.

Over the years of early school mornings I've gotten the time it takes to make myself look "awake" and "alive", down significantly and I thought I'd share with you my basic 5 minute make-up routine that I use most days.

Imagine waking up one morning and being a millionaire, just like that! I know, you're thinking the same as I am, if only! I stumbled upon this witty Kate Spade graphic yesterday and it got me thinking, what if money was no object, what would I buy?

I recently started my first year of college and thought I'd share with you some things I find essential to have with me in my rather oversized bag.

Recently, on Valentines Day I received Katy Perry's Killer Queen perfume from my boyfriend. I'd been after this perfume since it was released, but never got round to buying it. It's not like the usual girly floral scents I'd go for, it's a bit more warm. I really love this for when I'm going out or getting dressed up. Even though I've only had it for about a week it's already one of my favourite perfumes and I'll definitely buy it again.

My other favourite perfume is Daisy Eau So Fresh Sunshine Edition by Marc Jacobs. I also own Oh Lola which I love as well. The reason Daisy is my favourite perfume is the fact it's so light and fresh, some perfumes can be too over powering and in your face, Daisy is not like that at all. I wear this everyday and never get tired of the girly, floral scent.
